Payment Structure
The AU $43,600 second instalment is requested only when the application is ready for grant. The first instalment should be checked with the Home Affairs Visa Pricing Estimator. Additional costs may include health examinations, police checks, and a refundable Assurance of Support bond.
Eligibility Requirements
Age Requirement
Must have reached Australian Age Pension age (currently 67 years) at time of application
Parent of Australian Citizen/PR
Must be the parent of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
Balance of Family Test
At least half of your children must live permanently in Australia, or more children in Australia than any other single country
Sponsor Requirements
Sponsor must be 18+ years old and settled in Australia for at least 2 years
Health & Character
Meet health and character requirements including comprehensive medical exams
Assurance of Support
Must have an approved Assurance of Support; any refundable bond is lodged with Services Australia and depends on the visa and number of adult applicants
Financial Capacity
Must be able to pay the high visa application charges
