Total Cost for Permanent Residency
The contribution is paid in stages: first for the 884 visa, then a further second instalment when converting to the 864 visa. The total is broadly similar to applying for the 864 visa directly, but spread over two stages.
Eligibility Requirements
Age Requirement
Must have reached Australian Age Pension age (currently 67 years) at time of application
Parent of Australian Citizen/PR
Must be the parent of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
Balance of Family Test
At least half of your children must live permanently in Australia, or more children in Australia than any other single country
Sponsor Requirements
Sponsor must be 18+ years old and settled in Australia for at least 2 years
Health & Character
Meet health and character requirements including medical exams and police clearances
Assurance of Support
Must have an approved Assurance of Support; any refundable bond is lodged with Services Australia and depends on the visa and number of adult applicants
Financial Capacity
Must be able to pay visa charges and support yourself in Australia
